Area 2 Adult Rider Team Challenge: Rocking the Red
Participating in the Area 2 Adult Rider team competitions are a lot of fun! You get to build camaraderie with your teammates and people you compete with every weekend getting to know them better and better. You also get a team shirt to "rock the red."
Teams are made up of four members, with the top three scores counting toward the final team score. CDCTA proudly sponsors teams each year, and this year we sponsored two teams—both of which finished on the podium at the Seneca Valley Pony Club Horse Trials! Our sponsorship means we pay your entry fee, and we do ask for a day of volunteer time in return.
The Mane Event
The Mane Event included Michaela Yowaiski and Tego at Training, Catherine Ramsey and Cakewalk at Training, and Cindi Moravec and Holloway at Novice. They were joined by Area 2 Adult Rider member Elizabeth Espinosa and Benediction at Training. The team had an outstanding weekend. Michaela and Catherine finished first and second in their division, while Cindi finished second in hers. Elizabeth's score became the team's drop score.
The Mane Event ran away with the competition winning over 5 other teams with a combined score of 90.1 points, and distancing CDCTA’s second place team by 15 points!
The Chaos Squad
The Chaos Squad included Karen Conk and Wild Rumpus at Novice, Lindsey Berreth and Guising at Beginner Novice, and Suzy Gehris and Watch Me at Beginner Novice. Area 2 Adult Rider member Malie Lockard and Dynamic Decision joined the team at Training.
Karen got to the event, but scratched on her way to Dressage honoring her horse who had bumped himself - horses! Suzy previously had to “sub in” Watch Me for her original entry proving The Chaos Squad was appropriately named. Luckily, Lindsey’s steady hand anchored the team as she was 2nd in her division with Suzy being 4th, and Malie’s 4th place finish enabled the team to stay 0.2 points ahead of the 3rd place team.

CDCTA is proud to support the Adult Rider Team Challenge and the opportunity it provides for riders to compete together and build connections within the Area 2 eventing community.
