June President's Letter

This edition in the CDCTA newsletter we'll take a look at our events we've already held this year. It's always amazing to me how our show organizers get so much accomplished!

The first major activity this year was the Awards Banquet. If you haven't attended, I highly encourage you to do so. Hopefully the article in this newsletter will convince you that it's  a fun event and we'll see you at the next one!

Also, make sure you get your competition points turned in as soon as you can and double check that your full day of volunteer time is completed (more if you can, please!) in order to be eligible for Year End Awards.  Thank you to Helen Hayn for her hard work getting the Awards organized for the banquet!

Our second activity was a first aid/emergency response briefing. Thank you Jim Gehris for a fun and informative event,  as well as Miranda Kettlewell for organizing and Tri-county in Marshall for hosting.

Our third and sixth activities were the cross country Combined Test at Win Green. Everyone has a blast at these and I definitely recommend attending next year. Thank you to Kate Rakowski for organizing and Kelly Adams at Win Green for hosting this event.

Our 4th activity was the recognized Horse Trials. This is a very important show in our community.  More and more of the individual recognized Horse Trials are ending their days for good.  This means riders will have fewer options, both in terms of distance from their home and having a variety of terrains and locations for their horses to gain experience.  Please support your  local recognized Horse Trials! Sign up if you can, and if not, please volunteer. Especially support the CDCTA Horse Trials!

Our 5th activity was the cross country schooling day. Thank you to the property owner Scott Nelson and his family as well as Lisa & Mike Mendell, Karen Conk and Stephanie Traylor for all their hard work and support of these two events.

And last so far, our first Dressage Schooling Show at Great Meadows.  It was well attended and we saw quite a few excellent tests and great learning experiences.  Please volunteer as we have quite a few more dressage shows coming up. Thanks to Bekah Bartley, Miranda Kettlewell and Great Meadows for making this series happen.

Phew! That's  a lot! And the year's not half over! Please join in and let's make the rest of the year even better!

And we'll see you

After the Ride
